Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCg) is a hormone produced by the placenta during pregnancy. It helps thicken the uterine lining to support a growing embryo and tells the body to stop menstruation. Used to treat infertility and help women who have trouble ovulating develop eggs. In men, it helps the production of testosterone and sperm.
